A great place to visit/vacation/live, Koh Tao has grown drastically, but still retains much of its charm. The beach by your hotel is gorgeous, but the water might be a bit cleaner down the road. Diving is fantastic and incredibly cheap. I did my divemaster course there and got in over 80 dives in 2 months for about $500. Chumphon pinnacle is incredible and it would take a few more dive operations to saturate the area... this website fails to mention many numerous species that can be found here, but it should be mentioned that the Whale sharks don't come nearly as often anymore and have actually been absent at times in April. And while some sites will definitely have reef sharks, leopard sharks and turtles are hard to come by. |
