Description:
The Placencia Peninsula and the Stann Creek District are about 60 air miles south of Belize City or 100 miles by road. The Peninsula defines the Placencia Lagoon and runs parallel to the coast of Belize for about 18 miles. The Lagoon is about three miles wide at the widest point near the mouth of the lagoon.

 Dive conditions: Ocean/Sea, Salt water, Brackish
 Seasonality: Year round, but April untill August is rainy season, but also the time you wanne be here for the whale sharks.

 Bat rays
Bat Rays can be seen passing by when Diving Gladden Split for Whale Sharks.
 Blacktip reef sharks
 Bottlenose Dolphins
Bottlenose Dolphing migrate to Gladden Split to feed on the Cubera and Dog Snappers that also migrate to the area in March, April, May and June. The Whale Sharks also migrate to the area to feed on the eggs of the spanning Cubera and Dog Snapper.
 Bullhead sharks
Bullhead Sharks migrate to Gladden spit to feed on the Cubera and Dog Snappers.
 Carribbean reef sharks

 Great Hammerhead sharks
 Hawksbill turtles
 Lemon sharks
 Loggerhead turtles
 Manta rays
You can also see Manta Rays while diving Whale Sharks.
 Moray eels
Moray Eels can be find through the year.

Area host large concentrations of whale sharks during April and May when Mutton, Dog and Cubera Snappers are spawning 3 or 4 days before and after full moon. The whalesharks ingest the spawn as food.
