Located at the north-eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. About 21 km off shores the remote town of Kuala Besut. There are two lovely unspoiled island lie amidst exquisitely clear waters. Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian) and Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) comprise the Perhentian Island, aptly named after "henti"(stop) as fishermen from mainland Kelantan and Terengganu have, for centuries, stopped over at the island for a rest or to shelter during a major storm.  Blacktip reef sharks
There are black tip reef sharks all around the islands and it's possible to see them, though they are more often spotted by snorklers then by divers. Maybe the diver's bubbles scare them away.
 Cat sharks
This shark can be seen on our deep reef at 30m depth. We occasionally see it at some of the other sites too, but overhere it's always there. (As far as you can say "always" with animals)
 Coastal fish & Reef Life
The humphead parrot fish is quite big. It can be spotted alone, in pairs or in schools of up to 20 at a time. They are seen regularly on some dive sites.
 Green turtles
These turtles come here to mate and lay eggs. We sometimes see them mating at the surface. During our excursions to Redang island it's possible to snorkel with them and see several of these beautiful turtles.
 Guitarfish rays
This beautiful creature can be seen near Lang Tengah island usually surrounded by a big school of cobias.
 Hawksbill turtles
These turtles feed on the soft corals that grow abundanty here. A few dive sites are reputable for seeing them, but they do move around so you have to be lucky. There are a few snorkling spots where you can be 99% sure of seeing them.
 Moray eels
There are many white eye moray eels and on some of the dive sites we see them all the time. We also have giant Moary eels on a few divesites but we don't see them as often.
 Stingrays
The huge Jenkins Whipray can be seen here all the time as well as the blue spotted fantail ray. We occasionally see a blotched fantail ray as well as well as the masked fantail rays that hide in the sand. It even happens that we see eagle rays but not often.
 Wobbegong sharks
This shark is called wobbegong in some books, in others it's called a bamboo shark. It's a small shark that usually hides under rocks and corals. They can always be found on our deep dive at 30m depth, on Sugar Wreck and at Temple of the sea and very often on some other sites too.
